Day 38
Kiwi.....don't really care for it but thought it would make a good picture. I have been seeing some other 365 peeps photographing fruit so I thought I would give it a go today. I mean I have so many more days to go and with being stuck in the house my inspiration has seemed to dwindle.
It has been a somewhat busy day. Trying to get everything ready for a newborn shoot I have this week. So very excited about it!!!!
We had an awesome Kidz Service at my church last night! So very honored to be involved in the Kidz ministry at my church! It was a scary thing for me at first but I guess I am growing more comfortable with it. I love those kids, they bring sunshine to my life! And I love the ones that I work with in the Kidz Ministry, they are just awesome people and glad to have them in my life!
Until tomorrow.......

Day 37
Well I decided to go outside and take some pictures from a different perspective today. There is a tree in my backyard that I find intriguing in a way. In the process of trying to capture the angel I wanted for the shot I stepped in an ant pile that was exactly where I needed to stand to get the shot. Thankfully I had socks on so no ant bites. I couldn't capture it the way I had intended to but I did get this shot that I love very much. The lighting behind it is just beautiful.
Not much to say today, well because I am feeling a little loopy from the cold medicine I took last night so I can not think clearly. So you are spared from my ramblings today.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Day 36
Let me just say that blogging, picture taking, editing and sickness does not mix very well. And I should add in there creativity. I slept on the couch all night trying to avoid spreading my germs to my hubby and well I was looking around and saw my daughters journal so I thought that will work for today. So here is my picture!
I will add another picture below so you can see what the front cover says which is "It's all about me!", if only right? I guess we have our time when it is or seems to be all about us but once you become a mother it is no longer all about you but all about your children. As I felt awful yesterday I still had to rise to motherhood and drag myself off the couch to fix my sweet angels some lunch and drinks. It is rough being sick when your kids are sick. But you know sometimes in our times of testing we see such revelations (Yes being sick when your kids are sick is a test indeed, just honesty). And here is my revelation of yesterday....
My sweet baby girl right before bed saw me curled up on the couch shivering so she went and grabbed me some more blankets and covered me up before turning off the lights and getting on the love seat (both of us sickies camped out in the living room). As I have said before it is the little things that count. I count it such a blessing to be a mother to this sensitive tender hearted child. I know at times that she can be a handful and she is a determined little thing but down deep in her heart she loves with such an intensity. The intensity of her determination and self will is the same intensity of her love for others. As a mother of a strong willed child I often question the reality of who this wonderfully and fearfully made child is headed in her life. She gives me a run for my money, she has made me a stronger person and I see the things that I have taught her starting to blossom in her life. The days that are struggles make me question if I make the right choices in how I handle her will but then on nights like last night when I see the tenderness that she has for others I know that what I am trying to do in teaching her to control her strong will, is far better than breaking that great will that God has given my child. He gave it to her for a purpose and well who am I to try and break it, my job is to help her mold it into what God intended it to be, a great gift from Him!
Cherish what God has given you! Embrace it and trust him to lead you!
(Please forgive me if my ramblings get off track sometimes, my mind seems to go in so many different directions but hey that is who God created me to be, right? lol)

Day 35
Today I had to make myself take a picture. I feel horrible and well I just want to lay in my bed. But I took on this project so here is my picture. I have been stuck in the house all week so I have been trying to be crafty. Here is a pillow I made for my daughters friend for her birthday. I sure hope she likes it after she sprays it down lol.
Also I am including a close up of my flowers I made for the top of the pillow and a picture from yesterday of the icicles on my house. I love icicles. I remember them hanging from the house as a kid, seeing we did not get much snow around here but I do remember the icicles and I loved them. I was telling my kids I wish we would get some and my youngest looks outside and says whats that hanging from the house, Icicles! I was so excited! Its the small things that matter, right? :) Now I am going to crawl in my bed and stay there for the rest of the day.
Have a wonderful day!

Day 34
I played with condensed milk today and a fancy cup! My memory of condensed milk is my mom opening a can and letting us eat it by the spoonfuls as a child. I loved that stuff. I would go get just cream snowballs when I was a child because I loved it so much. At any rate I love this stuff but as an adult it is too sweet for my taste, a little goes a long way unless on a snowball.
Speaking of snowballs, I am longing for my summer days today. I was not made for these cold, dreary days of winter. I think the Lord knew that I should be born in this wonderful southern state because he knew I needed a lot of sunshine in my life. Sunshine and warmth give me energy, where cold dreary days make me want to curl up under a blanket and I like to be active more than sitting around so I don't like this at all.
So enough on that. Another note on my Bible reading this week. I was reading the story of Cain and Abel this week also (I finished the New Testament in my project to read my Bible through this year and now am on the Old Testament). Genesis 4:9 "And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?" Okay now Cain I know you did not just talk back to God, as a parent I see the parallel of me asking my kids something and getting a smart aleck remark back. When I read this scripture and thought about it, I began to question how many times have I done this to my loving Savior. Kara you know you were not very nice the other day to the store clerk, I think maybe you should apologize but instead of listing to that little small voice I decide to ignore that store clerk and not go to her line on purpose to avoid having to apologize for my actions. Basically I was saying but I don't want too, she started it, just like a child but in the end He won. I went to that line and I apologized and she didn't even remember the event, lets be honest it probably happens a lot but I knew that I did not show forth the christian fruit that I should and so I am glad that I did apologize even though she did not remember. I was being disrespectful of what God wanted me to do. It was for my benefit that I apologize not hers. I know this probably sounds crazy but for the people who know me you will understand that this drove me crazy to know that I was ugly to this poor clerk at the store. This might be totally far fetched but hey its the way my mind works so I just go with it and learn something from it.
It really drives me crazy when my kids talk back but I want to be a calm, firm parent that shows kindness even in my discipline towards them. I can not stoop to there level and them respect me. So I calmly ask for God to give me the strength, direction, patience and self control in dealing my children.
Have a blessed day! (You may ignore everything if you think I think I am crazy) :)
And here is the rest of my session:

Day 33
Good Afternoon Everyone!
I have been busy today. One of my dear friends has come over the last couple mornings to help sew (she basically sewed it and I cut out a piece of material lol) a bean bag of sort for my photography business. There is no way I could have done it and I so appreciate her help. Although she did leave me to sew small bags and fill them with bean bag fill, which I made a total mess in the process and got to practice making straight lines on my sewing machine. So that is my picture for today, my sewing machine that barely gets used.
As I was reading my Bible this morning I was struck by the fact that when Noah was in the ark and he sent out the dove and the dove could not find a resting place that the dove returned and Noah brought it back into the ark. Do you ever feel that you have no resting place? That chaos is everywhere. I am glad that I serve a mighty God that when it seems I can find no rest that I can come to Him and He stretches out His hands and brings me into His loving arms of rest. What a glorious rest to just be cradled in the arms of Jesus! Reminds me of the story my mom told me I told her when I was a child. When she left my hospital room, I was preparing for surgery as a young child, and I told my mom that Jesus came and rocked me and told me everything was going to be okay. I am thankful that the arms of my savior have always been a place of rest in my life and that this vision has always been with me to carry me through the times of doubt in my life. Now I don't remember this exact moment but I do believe it happened because I can just imagine me as a small child gazing into my saviors eyes and realizing how much he loved me to come an rock me. I long sometimes to dream this long ago event in my life, to remember it just as it happened on that day. I do know that it impacted my life in a great way and I am so thankful to my Jesus for loving me so much through out my life and always being in my life. I am such a blessed person to be able to always remember God in my life. I know there are people out there longing for comfort that they just can not find and I have never had to face that because I can never not remember knowing that He was there for me. I pray those people find rest in the arms of Jesus.
Hope your day is filled with the arms that help you find rest.
and another picture of my daisies because I love them!

Day 32
Well I bought myself some beautiful daisies this morning while picking up some Tylenol at the store so of course I had to take pictures of them. (I called and told my hubby thank you for the flowers, of course he was so glad he could get them for me lol). I just love these flowers. They are just beautiful. I am thankful that the Lord gave us such beauty in this world, it sure brightens up the day.
Well we had a bit of a nasty storm today but hopefully that is all finished. I really can not think very well today must be from not enough sleep because of a sick kid. For some reason (this might just be me) us mothers just cant seem to sleep when our babies are sick and running fevers. Nap? hmmm...possibly.....we shall see.
I also thought I would be creative today and make some flowers for some hair pieces. No hair pieces yet but the flowers are done and I like them very much. They are going to look beautiful on some headbands. See picture below....
Have a great evening and maybe I can write something worthy of reading tomorrow. Till then....
